Motorists are advised that there is a temporary lane reduction for Cornwall Avenue on Monday, April 27 to facilitate sewer main repairs. Work is anticipated to be completed this evening.
Bridge rehabilitation work on the Columbus Drive overpass near Waterford Bridge Road is scheduled to resume on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, and is expected to be completed by August 2026.
To facilitate work on the Water Street Infrastructure Project, there will be disruptions at the intersection of Water Street and Prescott Street from Tuesday, April 28 to Thursday, April 30
Work continues on the future roundabout at Portugal Cove Road, Major’s Path, and Airport Heights Drive.
Site preparation is still ongoing for the future roundabout at Portugal Cove Road, Major’s Path, and Airport Heights Drive.
Starting Monday, crews will begin working around the perimeter of the intersection, and heavy equipment will be on site.
Construction is ongoing on a new 2.6 km shared-use path connecting Airport Heights to the Paul Reynolds Community Centre, with completion anticipated by fall 2026.
To facilitate work for the Water Street Rehabilitation Project, lane reductions will be in place, as well as occasional loss of parking spaces. Flag persons will be on site. Motorists should expect delays.
Tree clearing operations required for construction of the Airport Heights to Paul Reynolds Community Centre Shared-Use Path is scheduled to starting on Tuesday, April 7th, and will be ongoing for approximately two weeks.
To facilitate work for the Water Street Rehabilitation Project, a detour will be in place on Water Street from Waldegrave Street to Bishop’s Cove. There will be no on-street parking, however, access to parking lots will be maintained. Emergency access and bus routes will be maintained. Flag persons will be on site.
The City of St. John’s will complete the final stage of the Water Street Infrastructure Project in 2026, part of a multi-year capital initiative to replace and rehabilitate water mains and sewer lines, along with combined sewer separation, on Water Street between Waldegrave Street and Prescott Street.
