Contractors will be working on numerous streets from May 11 to October 15 under the City’s annual streets rehabilitation and infrastructure maintenance programs.
To facilitate filming for a television series, Quidi Vidi Road between Forest Road and Empire Avenue will be closed on either Monday, May 11 or Tuesday, May 12 from approximately 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. (the date is weather dependent).
To facilitate construction of a shared-use path west of the roundabout, the trail between Argus Place and Airport Heights Drive will be closed intermittently.
Work continues on the future roundabout at Portugal Cove Road, Major’s Path, and Airport Heights Drive. Starting Monday, May 4 at 9 a.m., work will begin to facilitate installation of a large culvert across Portugal Cove Road at Virginia River.
To facilitate the funeral and procession for a member of the St. John’s Regional Fire Department, please note the following closures for Friday, May 1.
Motorists are advised of the following road closures on Sunday, May 3 to facilitate the Battle of the Atlantic Parade and Ceremony.
The City of St. John’s is making progress on the development of the Crosstown Shared-Use Path (SUP). On Monday, May 4, work is scheduled to resume near Kenny’s Pond, with all work scheduled to conclude by August 2026.
Work continues on the future roundabout at Portugal Cove Road, Major’s Path, and Airport Heights Drive.
On Thursday, April 30, westbound traffic west of the intersection will be reduced to one lane until 4 p.m. Delays are expected to be minimal.
To facilitate work on the Water Street Infrastructure Project, there will be disruptions at the intersection of Water Street and Prescott Street on Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2
To facilitate sanitary and storm line installations, there will be a lane reduction southbound on Kenna’s Hill from Wednesday, April 29 to Wednesday, May 20. Motorists should expect delays.
