To facilitate work for the Water Street Rehabilitation Project, lane reductions will be in place, as well as occasional loss of parking spaces. Flag persons will be on site. Motorists should expect delays.
Tree clearing operations required for construction of the Airport Heights to Paul Reynolds Community Centre Shared-Use Path is scheduled to starting on Tuesday, April 7th, and will be ongoing for approximately two weeks.
To facilitate work for the Water Street Rehabilitation Project, a detour will be in place on Water Street from Waldegrave Street to Bishop’s Cove. There will be no on-street parking, however, access to parking lots will be maintained. Emergency access and bus routes will be maintained. Flag persons will be on site.
The City of St. John’s will complete the final stage of the Water Street Infrastructure Project in 2026, part of a multi-year capital initiative to replace and rehabilitate water mains and sewer lines, along with combined sewer separation, on Water Street between Waldegrave Street and Prescott Street.
The City of St. John’s is tentatively scheduled to begin construction of a new roundabout at the intersection of Portugal Cove Road, Major’s Path and Airport Heights Drive on Monday, April 13, with work expected to continue until the end of 2026.

The City of St. John's continues to address road conditions following significant snowfall over the past five days and ongoing poor weather.
Please be advised that Cochrane Pond Road, west of the Back Line, is closed due to heavy drifting and poor visibility.
This closure will remain in place until the weather subsides and crews can clear the area.
