Contractors may be working on the following streets from June 8 to 13 under the City’s annual streets rehabilitation and infrastructure maintenance programs. Work could include concrete/street excavation, concrete work, paving, heater scarifying, utility adjustment, ditch cleaning and culvert installation. Commuters may experience traffic delays in these areas.
Construction on the final phase of the Kelly’s Brook Shared-Use Path, between Carpasian Road and Bannerman Road, is scheduled to begin the week of June 8 and continue through October 2026.
As part of the ongoing construction of new accessible washrooms at Kelly’s Brook Park, the shared-use path in Kelly’s Brook Park near Hoyles Avenue (including the trail connection to Hoyles Avenue) will be closed for the next few weeks to facilitate re-paving.
Motorists are advised that sanitary sewer upgrades are taking place on Empire Avenue between Freshwater Road and O’Dea Place starting Tuesday, June 2 and continuing Monday to Friday until Tuesday, June 30.
Contractors may be working on the following streets from June 1 to 5 under the City’s annual streets rehabilitation and infrastructure maintenance programs. Work could include concrete/street excavation, concrete work, paving, heater scarifying, utility adjustment, ditch cleaning and culvert installation.
On Thursday, May 28 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., the westbound right turning lane from Portugal Cove Road to Major’s Path will be closed. Traffic will be detoured via Chinook Lane and Airport Road.
To facilitate the construction of new accessible washrooms at Kelly’s Brook Park, the Shared-Use Path in Kelly’s Brook Park near Hoyles Avenue (including the trail connection to Hoyles Avenue) will be closed on Wednesday, May 27 for approximately 1 week.
Contractors may be working on the following streets from May 25 to 29 under the City’s annual streets rehabilitation and infrastructure maintenance programs. Work could include concrete/street excavation, concrete work, paving, heater scarifying, utility adjustment, ditch cleaning and culvert installation.
The City of St. John’s will be carrying out sewer infrastructure repairs on Prescott St. on Friday, May 22 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Motorists are advised there will be a temporary lane reduction and sidewalk closure at Portugal Cove Road (fronting Holiday Inn) to facilitate work of the Crosstown Shared-Use Path project.
